What Happens If You Postpone Pregnancy?

Late Pregnancy

As technology grows and so our dependence on it, we move further away from nature. Same is the case of pregnancy, couples now plan pregnancy after 35 years. Health experts are concerned about that trend as it is not really safe.

This is due to the fact that priorities of today’s world have changed and couples are willing to wait instead of having children soon after marriage.

What is wrong in waiting till 35?

Well, its not totally bad but waiting too long can cause some issues.

Late Pregnancy
As years roll on, the eggs in the ovaries will reduce. That will drastically reduce the probability of getting pregnant when you wish to.

After 30, women tend to ovulate less. This is another issue that decreases the chances of getting pregnant even in case of unprotected love-making.

With age, certain other issues (blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis) could prevent your pregnancy.

The probability of birth defects in the baby could increase if you try to conceive at a late age. The probability of birth defects is 1 in 30 if you get pregnant after 45. But at 30, the probability is 1 in 1000; which means your chances of having a healthy baby is more when you are young.

The probability of miscarriage and still birth could also increase as you age.

It will be tough to undergo labour (and the pains associated with it) after a particular age.

Fertility issues can increase in both men and women after 35. This is one reason it is better to plan the first child when both you and your partner are young.

Last but not the least; even parenting will become a strenuous task if you postpone your pregnancy to your middle age.
